'Hero' Month has come to an end! How have you enjoyed it?

Which one has been your favourite? Or perhaps which has been your LEAST favourite?!?!?

Much like the named 'Girl' WoDs, Hero WoDs are Benchmark workouts that are created by CrossFit HQ to honour certain men & women from all lines of public service from all parts of the world who tragically lost their lives in the line of duty doing their bit to preserve freedom in our society.

Throughout August you have been getting a good dose of some of the finest & hardest Hero WoDs from HQ.

Hero workouts aren't just a mad test of your Fitness. They are (as mentioned above) there for us to honour the fallen who put themselves on the line for others' freedom. On top of this they also serve as a way for us to achieve & accomplish something special within an exercise session.

Too often people can get caught up in numbers & movement obsession. Stuff like "My squat should be this", or "I should be able to do this by now". (To which my reply is often "why should you have done this by now? What extra work have you put in??"). Anyway I digress.

Sometimes we just need to suck it up. Hit a real hard workout and suffer for X amount of minutes & just get the job sone safely. At the end of it all you will have completed a hard yard of Strength & Fitness. You will have bonded with every one of your classmates. And you have gone to a place that most CrossFitter's often avoid & realise that at the end of the day there are worse things in life than being asked to run down some stairs and back up again to pick up a barbell.

This month you have embraced a huge part of the CrossFit ethos, the fabric & the very core of what CrossFit can do for the everyday person. You should all be proud of your achievements and you know what? you survived and now we move on to a new month, a new season... and hopefully some hot weather!!

Big well done to each & every one of you. Until next August!!!

. . .

Get ready for Spring & September. Time to get those Skills on point!
