- Strength Day y'all!
- The Snatch is a mighty technical movement. One that requires all the stars to align and you to move in, well, perfect harmony. Lots to think about in terms of all the moving parts that make up this wonderful movement.
- Essentially we want to simplify things as much as possible for ourselves whilst still adhering to the points of performance that will get you moving well.
- Today we will be heading for the FULL SQUAT snatch however, if you are in the place where there is a clear element that you need to work on we will steer away from the full move and work in components of it. An example might be not doing the squat snatch and instead do 3 hang power snatches + 3 overhead squats to focus on your leg drive/hip opening to elevate the bar and then hit out good quality overhead squats.
- If the movement isn't quite ready to snatch then we can work simply on the overhead only to hone down that foundational movement.
- In any case lets spend a decent amount of time working on this and come away having learned heaps more about your snatch technique.
- Hold the standards. Form is priority as always.
- Scale as needed.
