Clean & Jerk

3 - 3 - 3 - 3 - 3

  • Olympic Lifting on the menu today!
  • We've had a couple very tough WoDs, now its time to dial it back a notch & really dig into the nuances of this complex lift.
  • Five sets of Three are no joke though. The reps are to be "Touch & Go" style so get ready to hang onto that bar!
  • Have plenty of warm up sets before you embark on your first "work set". That first set should be around the 75-80% mark of a current 1RM. Each set needs to be a real challenge and one that forces you to rest 2-3 minutes at least.
  • Any style of Clean is allowed (muscle, power, split or squat). At the same time any style of Jerk will be permitted, however we recommend working the Split Jerk over the Push Jerk as you will more bang for your buck and its a fine time to work on that skill.
  • We are 3.5 weeks onto the CrossFit Open & with just two more WoDs to go the body & mind will be feeling it for sure!! today may well produce a PR for you. Likewise, if the body is feeling a bit jaded today then lift as Heavy as you can with decent form & accept the numbers than come form this.
  • Lets have some fun, cheer each other & have a great Community Day!!
  • Hold the standards. Form is priority as always.
  • Scale as needed.
