- An absolute classic on the rooftop today. "Helen" is one of the 'girl' benchmark workouts and is a true test of fitness. We have Benchmark workouts within the CrossFit prescription as it is one way to make fitness quantifiable. We live by the mantra "Measurable, Observable, Repeatable". We will measure something, observe as we make progress, then repeat to see if we had made said progress.
- This is what makes CrossFit an efficacious program. It drives and gets results. Should you set yourself a new record on this workout you know you have increased fitness in this particular time domain & set of tasks. Should you not best a score and it (shook horror) goes the other way then you can quantify your measure on that given day, use & look at the data and let that steer you toward increasing the capacity in that particular realm.
- Don't let the fact that there is a girls name attached to it scare you or make you so nervous you cannot perform. If this happens we have already let the WoD defeat us. Come up, get ready to play hard and enjoy it for what it is, a kick-ass effective and fun workout!!
- Overall goal today is 10 - 13 minutes. All swings unbroken.
- Hold the standards. Form is priority as always.
- Scale as needed.
